Building complex targeting logic from scratch for every campaign is time-consuming. To help you scale your efforts, maintain consistency, and collaborate effectively, the platform allows you to save your targeting configurations as reusable Campaign Rules.
Here is your guide to creating, applying, and managing your library of saved rules.
Saving a New Campaign Rule
When you build a highly effective targeting condition—such as combining a behavioral event (like cart_add in the last 30 days) with an AI Predictive Trait (like a propensity score greater than 0.8)—you can save it for future use.
After configuring your logic in the Targeting Rules builder, select the option to save your rule.
Click on the Save Campaign Rule button. A modal will appear prompting you to Save as Campaign Rule.
Enter a clear Campaign Rule Name (e.g., "OTF Detection") and a detailed Description (e.g., "Rule to identify users who are on the fence").
Click Save. Your rule is now added to your workspace's rule library.
Reusing an Existing Rule in a New Campaign
Once a rule is saved, you can instantly apply it to new campaigns, ensuring targeting consistency across your marketing efforts.
Navigate to the Targeting Rules section of your new campaign.
Instead of clicking "+ Add Rule" to start from scratch, click the + Add Existing Rule button.
A dropdown menu will appear. Search for and select your saved rule (e.g., "OTF Detection").
The complex logic you previously built will instantly populate into your new campaign's eligibility conditions.
Managing and Inspecting Saved Rules
You can manage your entire library of reusable logic from the dedicated Campaign Rules list view.
Rule Library: View all saved rules, complete with their descriptions and the email address of the user who created them.
Clicking into a specific rule opens a detailed view. Here, you can review the logic using a toggle switch at the top right:
Builder View: Shows the user-friendly, visual UI configuration.
JSON View: Displays the raw JSON code for technical inspection or debugging.
As your rule library grows, you may want to delete outdated or unused rules from the list view to keep your workspace organized.
NOTE: Deleting a saved rule from the Campaign Rules list view does not break or alter existing campaigns. If a rule was already applied to a campaign, the targeting logic will remain completely intact within that specific campaign. Deleting simply removes the rule from your campaign rules library, preventing it from being added to new campaigns.
