Files (file upload object) - Is the "In Use" column used for anything?

In the Files menu there's a column "In Use", is this used for anything? I assume it's to be similar to the same column in Runtimes to show apps or notebooks that the object is being used in, but at the moment the file object(s) can't yet be dragged into apps and for notebooks are we able to tell if a file object is being referenced?
